Winter Pruning Workshop

Are some of your trees and shrubs were getting out of hand — shaggy, dense, and perhaps a bit depleted? Winter is an excellent time to address these issues because for many plants dormancy is the best period to prune.  Kacey Cloues will identify a number of plants best pruned in winter as well as demonstrate proper pruning techniques.

Topics covered:

  • Pruning for health/rejuvenating cuts
  • Removing undesirable growth
  • Cutting cleanly and correctly
  • Removing tree branches and larger limbs
  • Pruning techniques for healthy hedges (e.g., boxwood, loropetalum and beyond)
