A Walk & Talk with Butch Teal
Saturday, Feb. 4 — 11:00am – SOLD OUT
ENCORE PRESENTATION: Saturday, Feb. 11 – 11:00am – SOLD OUT
Winter in Atlanta is the best time to plant larger trees and shrubs as it allows plenty of time for things to get established before the hot, often dry summer kicks in. Winter is also a prime time to assess which areas of your garden could benefit from the year round presence of evergreens.
Evergreens often play a key role in garden beds along the foundation of your home. In this walk-and-talk style lecture, G*H’s nursery manager Butch Teal leads you through a variety of options that can take your foundation plantings way beyond the hedge. Conifers, broadleaf evergreens, and even select perennials are all in play. Learn how to combine textures, heights, and colors for spectacular foundation plantings.
Instructor: Garden*Hood’s own Butch Teal. As nursery manager, Butch is responsible for familiarizing himself and the staff with every single plant we carry. He lives in Cabbagetown where he shares his shade-to-part-shade garden with his two lively dogs.
Register: The walk-and-talk is FREE, but space is limited so we ask that you sign up using the form below or by calling Garden*Hood at 404-880-9848.
Details: The walk-and-walk will be held outdoors here at the nursery. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes for walking on gravel. In the event of dangerous or exceptionally inclement weather, the encore presentation of the walk-and-talk will be rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 18. We’ll call you the morning of the event to alert you of scheduling changes.
